We are building the AI brain every restaurant deserves.
Our story
FoodservAI started inside Tofu King — a multi-state Asian fast-casual chain where Michael is one of the partners. He used the operation as the first real-world testbed for the product: the AI agents shipped here first, were stress-tested through actual peak service, and proved themselves before we offered them to anyone else.
Fat Daddy Chicken’s Brea location is the next kitchen joining the platform. From there, we open up to more operators.
FoodservAI spun out as PrepMate AI Inc. in May 2026 — a distributed team of operators and engineers building from the kitchen floor up.
Live AI agents today. Ceiling vision AI coming Q2 2027. One AI brain for the modern kitchen.
What we are building
FoodservAI is the agentic AI brain for restaurant operations. Three AI agents are live in production today — Inventory, Scheduling, and CRM. A fourth — ceiling Vision AI for food safety — ships Q2 2027.
Each agent removes a category of work that used to demand human attention, every shift, every location.
Why it matters
Restaurant operations is the last big surface of the business that still runs on spreadsheets, group chats, and shouting across a kitchen. The pain hits operators every shift:
- Foreign objects in food — one missed contamination is one lawsuit, one viral video, one closed location. The average product-liability settlement runs into six figures.
- Inventory shrinkage — manual counts miss 3–8% of variance. On a $100k/month food budget that is real money walking out the door.
- Bad scheduling — over-staffing burns labor margin; under-staffing destroys customer experience. Most GMs build schedules from gut.
- 75%+ QSR staff turnover — every new line cook needs to be retrained. Tribal knowledge walks out the door each quarter.
- GM burnout — managers spend 30%+ of every week fighting the same operational fires. They quit, the kitchen suffers, the cycle repeats.
These are real problems with real costs. FoodservAI removes them, agent by agent.
